Denpasar is the capital and biggest city of Bali. The name “Denpasar” comes from the Balinese word “den” which means “north”, and “pasar” which means “market”. This name was chosen because of being located in north of Kumbasari Market. In the Denpasar area, all kinds of Balinese handicrafts are represented in all over local shops. As well as “Toko Oleh-Oleh” , it’s the shop that sells various gifts and souvenirs. To us Denpasar feels like the “urban area” in Bali. Different than metropolitan urban area’s but the vibe is definitely different than in villages.
